Wall St opens lower as rally pauses in final week of 2025

Dec 29 (Reuters) – Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Monday, as heavyweight technology stocks gave up some ground from last week’s gains which had pushed the S&P 500 to new highs.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 74.3 points, or 0.15%, at the open to 48,636.63. The S&P 500 fell 26.3 points, or 0.38%, at the open to 6,903.6​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 178.4 points, or 0.76%, to 23,414.679 at the opening bell.
